The “old” school alert system is no longer being supported by the state, it ended Nov. 14, 2021.
To stay notified of the current status of the school notifications, this includes weather delays and early outs, you will need to sign up for the Morning Sun Tiger Remind account.

Parents and Guardians:
I want to thank you for your participation in your child’s education by attending conferences last week. We had a very high turnout which indicates to us that you highly value the education of your child. This is very encouraging to our staff and we enjoy our time sharing with you about the progress you child is making. We offered three different choices for conferences; in person, phone and zoom. We wanted to make sure that all comfort level options were offered. The vast majority of you felt comfortable coming into the school and visiting face to face.
Our staff would like to thank the PTO for providing dinner on both nights of conferences. This kind gesture is very much appreciated. If anyone is interested in joining or helping out the Morning Sun PTO, please contact Carrie Giese or Sara Gieselman for further information. What this group does for the school and students is wonderful.
Please be mindful that the school is doing all we can to use our resources in a responsible way. Much of the communication that takes place with you and the community is now being done electronically and by social media. The different types of media that are being used include; Remind, School Webpage and the School Facebook page. Please be sure you are using all these methods/apps so that you stay aware of the events happening at school. This is just one way we are able to save our resources and use our funds wisely.
With the temperatures jumping around from summer temps to fall temps and back again, please make sure that your child has a sweatshirt or jacket at school or in their bag. If a recess or classroom is running cool, your child should have something with them that they can put on to warm up.
Just a reminder that all school meals, breakfast and lunch, are free for the 21-22 school year. Lunch menus are posted on the school website.
REMINDER: The end of the first quarter is October 25. This marks that we are ¼ of the way through the school year. How can this be? It has gone so fast! If you ever have questions PLEASE be in contact with your child’s teacher. The classroom teacher is always the first one you should contact.
Morning Sun is a WONDERFUL school and community. It takes all of us working together to keep it that way. Your support is very much appreciated.
Make it a Great Day!
Mr. Steve

Parents, if your child is experiencing two or more of these symptoms, see below, please keep them home for a minimum of 24 hours or until the symptoms cease. If symptoms last longer, we encourage you to consult with your health care provider for recommendations.
SYMPTOMS: Cough, fever of 100.0 or higher, new loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, runny nose or congestion, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea or headache.
Please note, if your child test positive he/she will need to stay self isolated for 10 days. If your child test positive and has been asymptomatic, they will still need to follow the same guidelines. If your child test negative, please stay home until symptoms have ceased for 24 hours. Please do not send your child to school ill and hope they get better. We must show respect to our classmates and staff.
We are entering the season where viruses of all kinds and allergies are on the rise. Considering the circumstances, please be sure to wash your hands frequently, maintain distance and respect each others decisions. Please be mindful of others when making the decision whether to send your child to school or not. What would you want/expect other parents to do?
