The Tiger Pride Foundation is a non-profit corporation established by the citizens of the school community with the support of the Board of Education. The Foundation operates independently of the school system, and was created and incorporated to:
- Provide financial assistance through post-secondary scholarships for students of Morning Sun who complete high school graduation at one of our partner schools.
- Provide enhancement to current educational programs.
- Provide financial support to enhance teaching opportunities.
- Improve the school’s physical facilities.
The PTO is an organization whose membership is open to all teachers, administrators, parents and community members who strive together for the betterment of Morning Sun Community School and its students. This organization enables parents to have a voice and active role in the education of their children. It also enables parents and teachers to become better acquainted and share ideas and hopes for Morning Sun Community School. The PTO plays an integral part in providing energy, talents, skills, and moral support through its many activities, projects, and aides to teachers in Morning Sun Community School. All parents of Morning Sun Community School students are encouraged and warmly invited to be active members of the PTO.

The Mediapolis Savings Bank at the Morning Sun Office sponsors the Tigers’ Savings Bank, which is a student run bank that is open before school on Friday mornings. Students in fourth through sixth grades may apply to work as tellers or officers and operate the student bank with the assistance of Mediapolis Savings Bank employees and two of our elementary teachers.
Students in second through sixth grades, as well as Morning Sun Elementary School District staff members, may participate with the following guidelines:
- Only one account per Tigers’ Savings Bank customer.
- There is no minimum deposit required to open an account.
- The maximum weekly deposit is $25.
- There is a $3/month dormant fee if the account has no activity for a period of one year, which may reduce earnings.
- Earns interest on daily, available balance. Interest is paid quarterly and statements are cut quarterly.
- If a student, the maximum withdrawal amount NOT requiring a parent’s signature is $5.
- Participants may have 24 withdrawals in a six-month cycle with no service charges. After the 24 withdrawals there will be a charge of $.50/item, which may reduce earnings.
- Once an account balance reaches $5 you must maintain an average balance of $5/quarter or incur a $3 maintenance fee which may reduce earnings.
- Tigers’ Savings Bank accounts are available as “View Only” through online banking.
